Healthcove: The app that brings your complete Apple Health history to Home Assistant
Healthcove extends Home Assistant's capabilities by integrating your complete Apple Health history, including workouts and advanced data, via MQTT
Apple Health onhomeAssistant: Complete history with Healthcove
Apple Health Home Assistant is at the center of the news: The integration between Apple Health and Home Assistant is enriched thanks to Healthcove, an application developed to fill the gaps left by the native sensors of the Apple Health companion app. While the sensors integrated into the companion app (available in Labs 2026.8 versions) cover the most common data such as steps, heart rate, SpO2, weight and blood pressure (about 29 types), Healthcove goes further, allowing you to synchronize 182 types of Apple Health data. This means you can access detailed information on workouts, ECG classification, mental state, medication records, menstrual tracking, minutes of awareness, time spent in sunlight, ambient noise, pedaling power and the entire nutritional set (39 diet types).
Important update:Healthcove significantly expands the integration capabilities between Apple Health and Home Assistant, offering access to a much broader range of health data than the companion app's native sensors.
Beyond basic sensors: what Healthcove offers
The main difference compared to the standard Apple Health sensors for Home Assistant lies in history management. While native sensors only record the most recent value, Healthcove is able to send complete samples or aggregations (hourly, daily, weekly), allowing the entire historical series of data to be reconstructed. This is crucial for in-depth analysis using tools like InfluxDB or Grafana. The app also handles data synchronization via several methods: MQTT to any broker (with support for automatic entity discovery in Home Assistant), REST to custom endpoints, calendar events, or direct export to file. The update frequency can be set every 15 minutes, every hour, every 6 hours, daily, or in real time as new Health samples are recorded, using the same background path used by the iOS companion app.

Flexible integration with Home Assistant
Healthcove stands out for its flexibility and attention to privacy. The application does not require any account or data analysis, communicating exclusively with user-configured endpoints. For Mac users, full history sync happens directly between devices on the local Wi-Fi network, using TLS for maximum security, without going through external servers. The basic version of the app, which includes data navigation, chart viewing, and manual export to various formats (CSV, JSON, GPX, TCX, FIT), is free. Advanced automation features, such as sending data to Home Assistant, MQTT or REST, are included in the Pro version, available with a 7-day free trial and a one-time cost of $14.99, without subscriptions.
Healthcove privacy and costs
Apple Health Home Assistant - Healthcove's philosophy is focused on user privacy. There is no dependency on cloud services, user accounts or analytics systems. All communication occurs locally or to user-defined endpoints. The Pro version, which enables automations for Home Assistant, MQTT, and REST, represents a one-time investment, eliminating the need for expensive monthly subscriptions. The developer is available to answer configuration questions and welcome requests to add new data types or synchronization targets.
